2nd AOR   41 comments

Hi!

Well in the past few days quite a few forum members of Manila office have received a 2nd AOR from their visa office. We think this means that they have received the paper file AND begun processing.

I have pasted the wording below! I will confirm if this wording is standard throughout all visa offices as users from different visa offices report in!

Wayne.

======================

Name
Address
Date: ***********
UCI: *********
Application: ***********

Dear ************:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which we have received at this office.
You must quote the application number pasted above in any future correspondence.
Processing time

Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the category in which you have applied are finalized in an average of 6 to 12 months in our office. If you have not received any instructions from this office within six (6) months from the date of this letter, please contact us directly and inform us of this.
Interview

You will be notified in writing of any requirements for your interview, if required, prior to the date of the interview, and you will be provided with further instructions at that time.
Section 15 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act authorizes an officer to proceed with an examination where a person makes an application for permanent residence in Canada for the purpose of determining whether the person and all his or her accompanying family members appear to be persons who may be granted entry into Canada. To proceed with an examination, a personal interview is sometimes required.

Section 16 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination. If an applicant appears for the interview without all the family members as required by the officer, then the required examination cannot be completed. This means that the applicant would be found to be inadmissible to Canada as a foreign national by virtue of the fact that he or she has not complied with all the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Regulations, following sections 11 and 41 of the Act.
Interpreters

If required, applicants must arrange for interpreters in advance for any family members who will be interviewed and who are unable to communicate well in either of Canada’s official languages (English or French). If applicable, instructions for the provision of interpreters will be provided to you prior to your interview appointment.
Non-resident applications

If you or any of your accompanying family members are not normally resident in the area of responsibility of this office, then there may be additional delays in the processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada. These delays may result from the need to refer your case to the Canadian Immigration office which is responsible for the country in which you or your family members normally reside. This referral is necessary to verify any information that you have provided with your application, or for advice concerning qualifications or other matters of a local concern that should be taken into account when assessing your application.

Change in circumstance

Let us know by fax or email if there is a change in your personal circumstances, such as the birth of a child, a marriage or divorce. (See our contact information below.)
You must also inform us in writing of any
• Change of address, including change of e-mail address;
• Change or cancellation of immigration representative; or
• Request for withdrawal of your application.

Our contact information is as follows:

Communication by email

We will communicate with you by email if you have indicated an email address in your application or an enquiry. Therefore, please ensure that you provide us with a valid email address and that you check your email account regularly.
Prepare yourself for immigration to Canada
Your application has just been received at our visa office and several months may pass before you know the final decision on your application. We encourage you to use these months to gather information on Canada.
One of your first steps should be to begin researching potential employment in Canada. Keep in mind that many occupations in Canada are not regulated. For those occupations, the employer is responsible for assessing and recognizing your qualifications.
However, some occupations are regulated and do not permit persons to practice without a license. To obtain a license to practice a regulated occupation, you must go through a formal assessment and an acceptance of your education and professional qualifications by a regulatory body. This assessment will compare your training, education and experience to Canadian requirements. The assessment will also help determine whether further training and evaluation may be needed before you acquire a license to practice your occupation in Canada.

In partnership with Service Canada, the Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) provides information and referrals to individuals seeking employment in Canada. You can find more information on the FCRO Web site at www.credentials.gc.ca. Clients in Canada can call 1-888-854-1805 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              1-888-854-1805      end_of_the_skype_highlighting or the Service Canada general enquiries number at 1-800-O-Canada begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              1-800-O-Canada      end_of_the_skype_highlighting (1-800-622-6232 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              1-800-622-6232      end_of_the_skype_highlighting) for more information. Clients in Canada can also obtain in-person service at Service Canada Centers throughout Canada.
The Going to Canada Internet site at www.directioncanada.gc.ca contains important information about living and working in Canada as well as a “Working in Canada Tool” which will tell you what the current prospects are for your occupation across Canada. It offers information on essential skills, job descriptions, work conditions and opportunities. It will also tell you whether your occupation is a regulated profession in Canada or not.

We trust that you find this information helpful. Thank you for your interest in Canada.

Sincerely,

    THANKING YOU

    • Delhi 2nd AOR is also very similar, except for the processing time which they mention as 10 months. I came by post.

  3. hey, did the above information come in email? If by snail mail, how would you type these wording?

  4. Hi – this is a sample 2nd AOR from Manila office. The structure varies a bit from visa office to visa office. Also some visa offices send by email, and others it seems send by snail mail.

I suggest you following the main post-June-26 thread on the canadavisa.com website for ongoing updates!
    Wayne.

    • Dear Wayne,

I am an aspirant from India.

Can we do something if they rejects our application after the 2nd AOR.

Especially with respect to Bank statement & Experience verification.

If it is due to no fault of us, can we do something about that.

  5. Thankyou for all your efforts that you have put in this. very interesting information.

    • Pre-June-2010 applications are now facing delays of up to 2 years, according to correspondence from various visa offices.

Of course not all applications will be delayed by as muhc as this, but you should probably brace yourself for at least several more months waiting. Which is your visa office?

      Wayne.

      • Sir, My Visa office is New Delhi. Is it correct that Cic will not be accepting lany PR aaplications for two yrs until the backlog is cleared ?This is what Mr Tim Uppal,Minister in Canadian Govt, who was on visiit to India recently, declared in his press conference.
Could You please comment if at all, there is any official move in this regard.
        Thanx
        parhar rashmeet

      • I think this is utter rubbish. Can you please link your source as to where Tim Uppal has said this?
        Wayne.

  8. Dear Wayne,I
want to post you a small query :-
Application recd. by Federal Skilled Worker office CIO Sydney Nova Scotia :- 27th June 2011
Bank Draft Encashed by CIO :- 11th August 2011
1st communication from CIO Sydney :- CIO PER eligibility review complete :- 29th August 2011
File Being Transferred to New Delhi Visa Office
2nd AOR by snail mail from NDVO dated :- 21st September 2011
    Waiting for medicals now
ECAS presently shows :- Received by Visa Office as on 5th October 2011
    Main Query :-
    1) How long would NDVO take to send out medicals request?
    2) After applying to CIO Sydney, I was blessed with a baby boy in August 2011. Mail & AOR letter says notify Visa office about change in family status. To avoid processing delay, I want to include CAD $150 fees for baby’s application processing charges. Whom should the payment be sent? CIO Sydney or Canadian High Commission, New Delhi?
    3) Fees to be paid in Canadian Dollars or equivalent Indian Rupees?
    4) Bank Draft made payable at Canada or New Delhi ?
    5) I will include with the update letter a) Baby’s birth certificate b) Photo c) Fees d) Fees payment form.
Please tell me, if Birth Certificate be sent original or notarized?
Also please advise me, if any other thing required apart from above…or if I have missed something..
Thanks in advance for an early reply
    Deep Regards,

    • Hi in answer to your questions
      1) Impossible to tell. But generally it takes about a month AFTER your application has gone in process. But there are a lot of people waiting who applied before you, and NDVO seems to be getting busy/slower these days, so I think it could be a while yet.
      2) Congratulations on your new family arrival! 🙂 Contact your visa office by case-specific query and they should send you the necessary forms. You have to add the child to the application so there are more forms to fill in that just the fees I think
      3) Ask someone from your visa office for sure. Most visa offices allow payment in their own currency and also in CAD. We’re from London and we just paid RPRF in Canadian dollars to the Receiver General for Canada
      4) See above. If it’s in CAD it’s usually Receiver General for Canada. Probably a different payee to pay in local rupees but double check with other people who applied at your visa office (you’ll find plenty of them on canadavisa.com forum) for confirmation.
      5) Once again I advise you to first contact the visa office by case-specific query to find out exactly which forms and documents they require. Usually birth certificates should not be originals but should be notarized copies.

      Best of luck,
      Wayne.

      • Hi Wayne,

I am 2007 applicant, medical was done in April, and I have received an urgent request to submit an updated PCC and background schedule form which was submitted in October. My question is how long it will take to receive the PPR request?

        Appreciate your response.

        Regards,

        Nabil72

  9. ME TOO IN SAME BOAT…SEEMA WORKING WITH SAME COMPANY FOR LAST 7 YEARS ME RECEIVED SECOND AOR ON SEPT 1ST WEEK

  10. Hi – yes I know what you mean. Our neighbours here in Canada are also applying under FSW2. They sent their PR application to CIO one week after us, and they got medical requests last week – 7.5 months after us!

LMOs and AEOs are taking longer and longer to issue as well. Not much can be done but just put up with it. IMO FSW1 is still the best category under which to apply if you are eligible for it, but for many FSW2 with a job offer is their only realistic route.

    Wayne.

  11. Hello again Wayne

As Christmas is around the corner, hoping you and your family have a festive merry christmas…and a prosperous New Year ahead:)

  12. Hi wayne
This is a great and helpful blog, thanks for helping all of us in the process of our residence application.
    My info is the next;
Send application on sept 2 2011
Aplication received by sydney, canada sept 7
They charged the fee for processing on my credit card on november 24
I received the PER on december 5
And the 2 AOR on january 5 from Guatemala
On the letter that they send me on email said that the process could take 24 months on average, but i have until now 4 months and i already have the 2 AOR, do you think that the process could take that long or instead could be a year or less given the circunstances?

Thanks for your help and blessings

    Danny

    • I think 24 months would be worst case scenario for post-June-26 applicants. Ours took 11 months to get a decision. Some are as fast as 6 months, but then I know people who are at 18 months are a still waiting.

No real way to tell but I would think 12 months is a reasonable average to expect.
      Best of luck,

      Wayne.
