Some Post-June-26 applicants can now check ECAS status   1 comment

Well, things seem to be moving, if slowly! As of today we can now check our ECAS status online!
That’s the good news. The bad news is that it is inaccurate. All it says is:

“We received your application for permanent residence on August 30, 2010.

Medical results have been received.”

We know our medical results have not been received yet because we haven’t had a request to do medicals, therefore haven’t yet done medicals, therefore the cannot have been received!

CIC updates ECAS every Tuesday so hopefully this inaccuracy will be ironed out. If we’re very optimistic “Medical results have been received” actually means “Medical requests have been sent”. However, I cannot imagine our file has made it to visa office AND sat waiting behind the pre-June-26 applicants at security check stage AND our security checks finished (which take at least 30 days).

So I doubt we’ll be seeing medical requests until March/April time at the earliest. But being able to access ECAS means they are at least doing something new with our application!
